Central Oregon is variously defined, but often it refers to the area in between the crest of the Cascades to the west and the eastern counties of Oregon to the east. Bend is by far the largest city in the region.
For the sake of this site, I will define it narrowly as "Bend and environs" - Deschutes and Crook counties.
Bend is the anchor of the region, but there are other communities - Redmond, La Pine, and Sisters.
Newberry National Volcanic Monument and the eastern slopes of the Three Sisters are the main natural attractions, as well as the Maury and Ochoco Mountains east and northeast of Bend.
